On Thursday 17th December the Isle of Man Wealth and Funds Association (“IOMWFSA”) hosted their annual general meeting at the Claremont Hotel, hearing presentations from the newly appointed Chair of the Finance Agency, Sue Preskey, Simon Pickering of the Finance Agency and Andrew Kermode of the Financial Service Authority.
The IOMWFSA is a unique industry wide body with a powerful voice to consult with government and regulators for the benefit of the industry. In addition, the IOMWFSA work closely with the Department for Enterprise to promote the Island and its services.
Katherine Garrood, who was re-elected as Chair of the IOMWFSA for a second year, said: ‘As we know this has been a year of challenge for everyone, and the wealth and fund sectors were no different. Despite this we have still continued to host regular Morning Chatter events, we have launched a new website, and we have worked closely with the Finance Isle of Man Agency to ensure the continued support for both our members and the sector, including a joint presentation an online conference in the Autumn.
‘Looking ahead we already have numerous events lined up, including our rescheduled Black Tie Dinner this May. I would like to thank my 2020 committee for their continued efforts during the year and look forward to working closely with the Wealth and Funds sector again over the next year.’
